Chuze Press September 2020 (Part 1)

It has been 173 days since we first closed our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and wow has it been a roller coaster!

When we say that you all have pivoted, this is an understatement.  As we have all learned, things can change quickly and we all are doing our best  – professionally and personally – to adapt and overcome with little to no warning.  Whether you are back to work in a club, working outdoors, or furloughed, we know you have questions.  There’s a lot going on!  And it’s 100% normal for you to wonder what the future holds for you and for Chuze.

We are here to say that Chuze is not going anywhere.  Our reputation was built on culture and cleanliness, and recent events haven’t changed that.  We KNOW we can operate safely, even amid this pandemic.

But us telling you that we’re not going anywhere is different from telling you what we’re doing in order to make it happen.  So, in the heart of transparency, we are excited to share with you our newly reinstated Chuze Press!!

Our main goal here is to keep open communication with you, our Chuze Family, by sharing what’s been going on in each district, as well as what we are currently working on.

We appreciate all the patience and grace you’ve given us during this wild ride, and we’re here for you if you need to talk.

COVID-19 Updates by District

  • San Diego was allowed to reopen effective 8/31/2020 at 10% capacity, and we were able to officially reopen our clubs on 9/1/2020.  Chula Vista outdoors will remain open, and we’re looking at the possibility of opening outdoors at other locations.
  • Orange County is expected to move into Tier 2 – Red on Tuesday and, under that scenario, we hope to reopen that same day at 10% occupancy.  Cudahy, however, is  in LA County and may not be able to reopen indoors as soon as we’d like, so we are looking into opening outdoors there.
  • The Inland Empire is not looking like it will be allowed to open indoors quite yet.  We are preparing outdoor areas at Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino, and Corona to open in September.  Keep your eyes out for Rialto’s outdoor opening next week!
  • All clubs in Tucson, New Mexico and Colorado are officially open!  Reduced capacities and limited amenities are still in place for now.
  • Kids’ Club remains closed at all locations until further notice. The Kids Club Team has been incredible supporting Operations during this time.

What we’re working on.

  • More outdoor areas in California!
  • Potential new locations – we are in discussions about resuming construction in Fontana, CA hopefully by year end!
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Initiatives: We are working on ways to elevate the conversation on DEI within our company. These conversations have begun and we are starting our focus on areas of collective awareness and recruiting.
