October 2019 – Why Presentation

Member,

My story is probably a bit different than most, but I’ll share it anyway. When I started at Chuze in Dec 2017, I was just beginning to come out of several years of chronic fatigue syndrome and the side effects that go hand in hand with it – a loss of neurological control, brain fog, etc. – as well as almost no muscle tone after years in bed. Prior to CFS I worked out almost every day of my adult life. My first day at Chuze I spent 5 minutes on the treadmill and 5 minutes on resistance training. I thought I would die, but I stuck with it.

My Chuze workout was and is integral to my self-care. I slowly worked up to an hour. I lost weight and gained muscle tone, control over my neurological system, got rid of the brain fog, and brought chronic depression under control. My reward for doing my workout is 10 minutes of Hydromassage.

Unfortunately, I had to have major surgery in July. I am waiting for the 2 month mark assigned by my surgeon so I can head back to the gym. There are a lot of folks at Chuze recovering from surgery, strokes and other health challenges. They inspire me every time I walk through the door. If they can do it, I can do it. For me, Chuze = self-care.
