November 2019 – Fitness Presentation

FITNESS PRESENTATION – NOVEMBER

2 EXCITING EVENTS COMING UP IN THE FITNESS DEPT:

TOYS FOR TOTS:

A very brief history beginning in 1947 – Major Bill Hendrick’s of the Marine Corp Reserves, wife, Diane, set out to handcraft dolls for underprivileged children. She asked her husband to take them to an organization that supported children…he reported back that he could not find such an organization, so she said to Major Bill, “then start one!” For 71 years the Marine Corp has been making a difference in the lives of American families with the Toys for Tots Program. I’m so grateful as a company in 2019 we will together make a difference in our communities during the holidays by supporting the Marines in their efforts to provide a gift to children who otherwise would not receive one.

Who is involved this year?  Every Department plays a role for our Toys for Tots event this year!

Operations, Kids Club, Maintenance, Team Training, Group Exercise, Home Office

In Preparation for the week long T4Ts Event – Ashley’s Email from October 29th has the complete outline…

Decorating Your Club – Get creative and have a blast to showcase your club and teams uniqueness

Each club has a budget of $300 that will be used to:

  • Decorate the lobby, Group X & Team Training rooms and Kids Club in line with the theme and using the colors gold, silver and white.  Have decorations up and ready on or before December 1
  • Purchase a bin to store decorations for next year if you don’t have one

Grand Prize! – Refer to Ashley’s email for complete details, but it’s a team outing budget:)

What to Expect from now until the 8th!

  1. DGXMs have ordered and will be dropping Toys for Tots boxes off at each location
  2. They will be or have already requested a District meeting to map out the details for each department’s responsibilities.
  3. The event is a week long, December 1 – 8, culminating on Saturday, December 7th with not only regularly scheduled classes and TT sessions, but GX will offer one special party-like class at each location.
  4. Your DGXM will provide the class schedule and have DT up to date to reflect accurately.
  5. A new, unwrapped toy is NOT mandatory to take any of our classes or sessions on Saturday Dec 7th, we are suggesting it.
  6. We do not want to discourage anyone so please be prepared to encourage members to get their workouts in regardless.
  7. The boxes will be up in gyms receiving donations through Sunday December 8th
  8. BASICS receiving GX Classes ONLY from December 1st – Dec 8th

POUND FOR POUND:

The goal of the T4Ts event is to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. And whether or not any of you as individuals, participate in traditional American holiday times, that’s not what we are doing – it’s the overarching umbrella of giving, and whether that giving is of your talents, time, or money, it’s truly about heart. My hope is that we will all enjoy this and our members will be inclined to join us in the spirit of Chuze Winterland:)

Chuze Fitness is clearly a place full of people with big hearts and a big commitment to serving others.  This easily characterizes the whole bunch, everyone from our company’s leadership down to all employees in the clubs and even beyond, to our members.  “Like seems to attract like” and so it isn’t surprising that as much as we as Chuze employees want to seize opportunities to do right by others, so do our members.  And that doesn’t just pertain to fitness and wellness goals… it truly goes deeper than that.

So from Thanksgiving morning (Thurs Nov 28) through Christmas Eve (Tues Dec 24) we are hosting our 2nd annual Pound for Pound Challenge.  All members / clubs need to do to participate in the challenge is attend Team Training sessions wearing their HRMs. During this time frame, we’ll calculate the cumulative number of calories burned during the Team Training sessions in each district and in turn, donate to local food banks. So in other words, a pound lost in team training translates into a pound of food donated to those in need. Ultimately when you lose, a food bank wins!
